Step by step
1. Nuvi machine to a computer to connect to USB cable into the drive mode.

3. GPX folder to copy the backup to your computer (GPX folder contains the files stored in user's personal favorite point and route information).

4. Data replication has finished, the machine shutdown nuvi.
5. To re-boot, please press the screen onto the bottom right corner *, re-open until the window screen prompt release. (* Note: nuvi 3 series please click the upper right corner of the screen)

6. Prompt asked whether to remove all user data, click "Yes" to remove information.

7. Reboot is complete, then had to back up the GPX folder, copy it to your nuvi machine.

In simple explaination.....it ask you to backup the gpx file in your garmin folder in the main memory, then do a hard reset and paste back the gpx file to the main memoory, that's all....

To do the hard reset, press on hold the right bottom screen, then power on, then it show the screen asking you whether to do the hard reset....then follow through....

Your POIs & tracks only. Done that several time actually. No harm to the device but don't really see the improvement.
