You should be able to get in KL outside of Low Yat, at nearer to RM1000 for Nuvi 205W. You just need to ask the right dealers. ;-)

I know to buy in Singapore, if I am there. Bought my 60Csx there too.

Yes outside of low yat is cheaper, but still too high.

I asked one on line dealer for the price of a 550, was 450rm more expensive than Sg.

How many maps can we load in 205W

Postby wahladino » Tue Nov 04, 2008 11:28 pm

Understand 200W can load up to 6 maps. Does 205W do likewise ?

Main Memory
1. gmapbmap.img - basemap
2. gmapprom.img - preinstalled map (if any) or additional map if you replace this map
3. gmapprom1.img - additional map
4. gmapsupp.img - additional map
5. gmapoem.img - additional map but this map cannot be deselected

SD Card
6. gmapsupp.img - additional map

IMHO, use mapsource to combine the maps into one gmapsupp.img. Much easier

Agreed, I do came across after joining the all the maps .
- The search function is slow.
- The search show different or lesser result vs you have a standalone map in your unit the search result is more complete.

- Error in routing calculation.
Take for example, I tried to combine MFM and Rotweiller Thailand map 4.2 ( select only the Thai/malaysia border mapset). To route form Bkt Kayu Hitam to Sadao is never possible.

In Rotweiller website he mentioned he had fixed the overlapping map titles problem with MSM map. But I'm not sure if this fix applied to MFM. ( I did not try joining RT and MSM map yet)

Mod, please help to redirect this post should this post no longer applicable for this section since i touch on map joining.

Thanks

IMHO, this is not a big issue to me unless I stay near the border of Malaysia-Thailand and commute there. But then one man's meat is another man's poison.
