He must not be using the legal memory card method. The default file download doesn't come with the support voice files.

i think u didnt install the 'support files'.

go to garmin's website, http://www8.garmin.com/support/collecti ... 0-00579-00

and download this file, Garmin Mobile XT Support Files, Ver. 4.xx.xx, as of Jul 11, 2007

and voila! you can use the voice navigation. If you are 'file size wary' like me, i deleted all other voice files except american english and british english.. as i switch between this 2 vopice file.. pending on my mood..

Hi,

Tried GMXT 5.00.40 on Nokia XM5800 running firmware version 20.0.012 to simulate route from from Lorong 1 Realty Park (N1.36701 E103.89095) to Block 104 Potong Pasir Avenue 1 S350104 (N1.33430 E103.86908). The simulate ends mid-way with vehicle 'jumping off' Serangoon Viaduct.

Tested using MFM version 1.53 and 1.54 full (with U-turn avoidance turned OFF) - both same problem as described above.

Anyone with Nokia XM5800 kind enough to help verify above on your phone? Cos I tried on Palm Centro running GMXT 5.00.10p with the same copies of gmapsupp.img to simulate same route with no issue

Thank you.

it's a known issue if u read the posts in this thread. need to disable turn preview.

Tools --> Settings --> Routing --> Turn Preview --> Disabled.

that should solve the problem.
