Any one experienced the same thing here? I am on V20 firmware by the way. Plan to reinstall it tonight and try again tomorrow.

Just to update on my progress. I did a fresh install of my unit and it works fine. I document all the little changes I made on the setting menu and narrow the causes of the system quit to menu page was due to Turn Preview set to enable. Maybe some of you can verify and report here for confirmation.

Even in simulation mode as soon as voice prompt came out, sometimes the 2nd voice prompt to turn then you will see GMXT quit to menu page.

Nokia 5800 Xpress Music

Postby vash_h » Wed Mar 04, 2009 12:15 pm

Hey guys! i just changed my phone to the 5800 Xpress Music.. had gmxt 5.00.30 installed.. with 1.43 and later 1.44 map..

would like to share the most noticible changes compared to 5.00.30 on my n95.. THERE IS NO DELAY OR LAG!!!

when i am at a turning, while turning gmxt will show exactly where i am on the map.. all the way! comparing the gps speed to my car's speedometer, it is almost immediate (i slam emergency break and gmxt will immediately drop down to zero.. ok la, not immediate but can see the speed drop suddenly and after a second will show 0)

THIS IS GREAT!! I LOVE MY NEW PHONE!!

note: i had some problems installing gmxt on 5800 initially, it kept saying 'expired certificate'. if you encounter such a problem, do a soft reset and after that you will be able to install. its a 5800 firmware bug.

i tried both 1.44 and 1.44 lite, no noticable differences.

but i still prefer road poi.. thus i still use 1.44, with no lags.

since it already has internal, u don't need external one. unless u want to buy garmin 10X & use GMXT for free. i read that the internal gpsr is very good (sensitive)
