no need to have internet on.. for malaysia it will download MFM-West Malaysia May2014 map.. around 400mb..

then it will say the map does not support traffic data.. WTF.. thats the main selling point of this map. But the toll calculation, toll avoidance calculation preview works.

i tried with restricting data for this software.. and it still functions (using firewall.. u can get it on avast but u need root permissions)

Mine won't function without internet connection enabled. It says so explicitly. Mobile data usage is a precious thing for people with a limited monthly quota like me, and I'm certainly not going to waste it on using this app. Galactio has completely misread what consumers want with a navigational software like this.

@vash_h,
Have you read the feedback on the Play page for this app that you linked?

Mine ( new phone with no SIM card) actually works for about 5-10mins (from McD Green Lane to Glugor underpass)... then it prompted Internet data needed.

So, it can work without data... but blocks it.

One more thing:
After I uninstall the APK the program/map are still residing in Android/Data. Have to manually delete the directory (com.galactio.xxxx) to clean it out.

Are you running with Internet data? My map and navigation looks Ok for the short duration it was running.

Hope Bro vash_h can confirm if he can run without Internet.

Yup Internet data is on. What surprise me was it downloaded map for Malaysia (?) around 400++ MB! While this done on wifi and need hours, still waste of time when you can not used it

Did you download from this LINK ... and using it in Singapore?

There is a notice: * Galactio-SG GPS Navigation is currently only available for Singapore.

There is no mention it needs Internet to run but having live data should mean it is required....

Mine Galactio-MY
https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... e.my&hl=en

Anyway try again yesterday during rain. Changing 2D to 3D (bird eye) vice versa cause it to pause and need to touch resume button. I don't see that one prevously :-k
Not sure the need of internet, as at least got gprs. However first fix take alot of time (gprs?). Waze first fix also took time but way faster (subjective not same spot although still gprs) but will give me blank screen when zoom in and constantly seeking network. :ko:

I think I like Here map on my Nokia X much better =D>
