bro zamad,

it seems the papago x5 menu is different from the r5800. theres is no advance setting & switch map menu. i can only see "settings" & map version. under map version there's only 1 map which is the original map.
from Garmin Que for Pocket PC to Garmin Mobile XT for Windows Mobile to Nuvi 205W to Papago M9 for Android & now Garmin Nuvi 2576.

Hello everyone,

I've downloaded the map to my laptop (as the instruction given) but I can't get it to my Papago R6600. It seems like my laptop can't detect my GPS.

Can anyone advice me solution to this problem?

Version: Papago! x6.0 Build: Apr 1 2010 (16:08:50)
Map switch : Malfreemaps.com 100311

Hi bassyee,
You may Use Papago Map installer to extract the map file into installer default setting path C:\Navi\Maps\MFM folder ,
After that, Transfer MFM folder into your R5800 TFAT drive Navi\Maps folder.
If you don't want to overwrite your R5800 current MFM map folder, you can rename the folder Name like MFM02092009 or Old MFM,
It is up to you. If you wanna able to switch map, then you should have more than 1 map folder with map files.
And Please make sure your have 27 files inside Navi\Maps\MFM folder
and Select the correct version of X3, e.g M3gps or Eastgear, Installer will be according your selection to extract the different Map header file to your R5800. If you have Eastgear R5800, but you select M3gps, then you have new map not being shown problem.

why there is 31 files in the file that i downloaded?

I'm using Papago R5800 X5.2, but after updating to the latest map 091118, the device froze and hung on the welcome screen. And I can't connect the device in USB mode anymore.

How to rectify this problem?

Help me please.

use a SD card and instructions as follows

Software Restore via SD Card

1. Prepare a NEW Formated SD Card (Atleast 2GB).
2. Copy everything in the SD folder from the Papago CD into the New Formated SD Card. Delete the Navi folder and not the X5_factory in the SD card.
3. Down load the software X5_5.2 from M3GPS site and install the software in your SD card.
4. You can also download the latest map and install it in \Navi\Maps folder.
5. Ensure your unit is in Off mode by holding the Off button for 5 seconds.
6. Insert the SD Card in to the Unit.
7. Reset the unit or you may have to power back your unit.
8. The Unit will automatically ON, and the Update program will start running. Wait until the program finish updating. Ensure you have sufficient battery life.
9. Remove the SD card once the Update has completed. Then Reset the unit again. Your restoration as well as software update is complete.
10. Future software update can be done this way, cause at times, the usb connections goes wacko.

I recently got one PAPAGO XDRIVER R5800 from a friend, but it stuck at the boot screen. happen to find this solution, but no such Papago CD(my friend said no CD in the box at all) and dont know where to get this software X5_5.2 from M3GPS site(looking for it for a few hours, can not find). any of forumer can help? Thanks in advance.
