Flood-prone Areas...

Postby ValJa » Thu Dec 31, 2009 5:36 am

hi all... i'm not sure IF this section is the best place to suggest this... perhaps others might suggested it before, so in this case i'll just re-suggest... :)

i just had an idea after reading news about flood and especially during rainy season nowadays... why not implement something like traffic camera icon to flood-prone areas that could be avoided during heavy rain?

can it be done? it will help a lot for GPS users to be cautious on these areas especially during rainy season... IF it's raining heavily, these areas could be avoided and alternative routes will be advised... an option could be added to "inform" the PND about the weather to re-route for alternatives...

thanks and cheers... :D

It can be done as another CPOI category. What is needed is to agree on the CPOI radius to alert the user; ie how far before the POI should the alarm be sounded.
