MFM Mapping Reference

Postby antyong (retired) » Sat Oct 04, 2008 12:23 am

This reference of Garmin map object type used current was prepared by OngCC. This is the first version of our mapping reference.

Our initial focus is on polygons. We can still customize a lot of polygons. If you want our maps to look nicer and become more informative, please propose some new custom polygon type and their colors. Colors need to contrast nicely with the Mapsource background, GPS device/software background and other polygons. From my experience, selecting the color require the most consideration.

I have included a text file which you can import using GPSMapedit as map skin.
1. Go to View->Manage Map Skin->Add
2. Select the downloaded text file
3. Two skins will be created. One for day and another for night. Both will display the same color because our customization does not differentiate day or night
4. If GPSMapedit does not change your map skin automatically, Select View -> Map Skin -> MFM Mapping Reference.txt

Post your comments at the MFM Polygon Project thread

MFM Mapping reference v3.0 - major revamp of custom POI codes and polygon colors. Also many additions.

Please take note that custom POI codes are for reference only. For map editing, use regular codes such as 0x2c0b for place of worship.
