My ASEAN Free GPS Map Project

I m starting to make a free map for those people going for Haji & Umrah.
Anyone have info, tracks etc, can PM me or send it here.

good idea. i hv been asking around about this but no luck so far. it's important because some bus drivers even don't know which way to go & ask around. during my haj, there were 2 occasions where we got lost. first from madinah hotel to bir ali which is VERY near (where i managed to show the way via garmin mobile xt) & second was when looking for madinatul haj in jeddah which is the last resting point before going to the airport to go home.

i got a few POIs but only relates to the places i went & stayed. but i forgot to save madinatul haj. i'll send later. i heard that many places have gone due to development including the famous masjid kucing. there are also the new monorail in operation at mina.

for the info, yeah OSM pretty much cover roughly the area. I just want to see more info, colours etc. and try to customise it to suite Lembaga Tabung Haji arrangement. Inspired from from my mother's stories last year. I was thinking when it come to my time, I want to bring the map as well. So I started this, it is already in the oven ;)

erk, I only have 2009 or 2010 (not sure) Garmin official map for Saudi

I made this map with this intention;
1: most people just go for Haji once in their lifetime. So, to buy the original map seems a waste of money, when u can use that money for something else. Dont talk about "crack" ones, bcos I am sure u wanna go there clean.
2: most people dont drive there bcos they just follow the transports arranged by Tabung Haji. So, I will concentrate on the POI, not much on the street names (at this moment). This map basically design for pedestrian, to know whereabout their hotel/accomodation so that they dont get lost.

3: I am hoping to get info from Tabung Haji for this map. Any other help from experienced members would be very much appreciated.
