Yes, agree.

moeyhc wrote:Naming of the junction can be JCT-give a name-a to (n) so that they will group together in Mapsource for ease of work. What do you think?

I suggest one junction at a time per report/submission so as not to confuse the mapper (and yourself).

I was wary about the confusion that might arise, but thinking about it, it can be done, if the junction (actually, the routing node) is labelled properly.

Can we use the above highlighted

Too wordy. The whole idea of this exercise is to get the information out as concisely and efficiently as possible. The junction coordinates might be "too close" for you, but we need that precision. So the best way is to submit in a GDB file.

Back to Scenario ONE:

TOP Picture:
Along Persiaran Jubli Perak (A to B), there is a junction 'Jct 01', where vehicles can turn right to Persiaran Teknologi Subang ( to C).

BOTTOM Picture:
For A to B, route will pass through (POI) 'Jct 01-1'
Code = ^; ^; R>
meaning: 2 left-most lanes goes straight, and third (right-most) lane turns right only.

For B to C, route will pass through (POI) 'Jct 01-2'
Code = <L; ^; ^U>
meaning: Left-most lane turns left only, middle lane goes straight, right lane goes straight OR U-turn (to the right).

For C to A, route will pass through (POI) 'Jct 01-3'
Code = <L; R>
meaning: left lane turns left only, right lane turns right only.

Therefore for this particular junction, Jct 01, there are three entry points (POI) to that Junction, ie Jct 01-1, Jct 01-2 and Jct 01-3. And each of these POIs will have their codes written in the 'Comment' field of the 'Waypoint Properties' window.

Correct?

Here is an example of submission using the codes as discussed

bro moeyhc,

I think I'm clear on 3 of 4 junction examples. Just need clarification on JCT-Green Lane_Tmn Greenview example; and these are my interpretation of the codes...

1. JCT-Green Lane_Tmn Greenview-a is a single 'one-way' lane. At the traffic light you either turn left or right. [ <RL> ]
2. JCT-Green Lane_Tmn Greenview-b allows only through pass at the junction. 3 go-straight-only lanes. [ ^; ^; ^ ]
3. JCT-Green Lane_Tmn Greenview-c: left-most lane goes left (probably voice will say "bear left") and the 2 other lanes go straight. [ \L; ^; ^ ]

Observations:
1. Junction POI is located on the road leading to the junction, but not at the junction itself.
2. At the junction, you cannot route into Jalan Taman Greenwood from Green Lane, because it is a 'one-way', i.e. No-Entry from Green Lane.

I agree with bro tlchuan on getting the understanding right before starting enthusiastically. Prevention is better than cure.
