Yes, supplementary map files should be placed in \Map folder.

Just got the A10; some potential there. Definitely better than my X1/GMXT combination :)

But I also tried copying the GMAPSUPP.IMG file into the [SD Card\GARMIN] folder and it also reads the MFM map. Flipping thru the manual now to see if i can find the setting on how to choose which map i want to use as its only reading the POI database and overlapping the POI info into the current built in map. Cant even find details if its a S.E.Asia map or what.

As with most Garmin devices, GMAPSUPP.IMG in data card's \Garmin folder should be readable. However, the disadvantage of using \Garmin folder is the limited number of IMG maps supported, ie. \Garmin folder in data card only accepts GMAPSUPP.IMG. \Map folder, in the other hand, recognizes any compatible IMG files, ie. MFM.IMG, MSM.IMG, etc.

Ahh.. that explains alot. All the more reason for me to go road testing later this week my new toy. Finally; found where the settings is to allow to change the choice of map. Manual had it near the end... and guess what? MFM and City Navigator Sing/Mal. preloaded as usual.

Hi Bros,

Thanks for all the tips on using Garmin-Asus A10. After reading through the posts, i've resolved the issues on viewing multiple maps in the unit as well as loading MFM into the unit...

Many thanks...MFM is really a great forum :prayer:

Brother can you please explain how to select map, quick start manual doesn't seems to tell much.

Thanks

1. Goto the Where To? page then press the menu button (3 horizontol line)

2. Menu will pop-up -> choose Settings

3. You will come to the settings screen, look for Navigation and click it

4. In the navigation page, click the menu again (3 horizontol line)

5. Another pop up menu will appear, click Map Info (tada...all the list of maps appears)

Hope this helps :P

*sigh*.. But.. could anybody confirm if the A10 i just purchased is under TWO-years warranty instead of the usual one? I just got it this weekend and noticed the 2-year warranty on their GarminAsus website
