If absolute time on the time stamp is important to you, as it is to bro wblee, then you need to check the Save time zone** in the settings (see my screenshot on the 1st post).

If it is not, then you don't need to check the Save time zone**, then your tracks will be reported eight hours behind because MapSource thinks it's UTC, but at least you can open in MapSource right away.

Thanks a lot to bro tympg. It works perfectly

but it seems to be quite trouble for me to convert the file every time. probably i still stick to MyTracks

Bro, another method is

  1. Don't check the Save time zone.
  2. Open the GPX file with a text editor and replace all

      Z</time

    with

      </time

Then the GPX file will be "time-zone blind", i.e. seen as local time whichever time zone your device/PC/software is set.

Thanks Bro for the quick response. Actually, I am more concerned with the accuracy of the tracks as opposed to the time difference. However, with geotagging of POIs, I still have to satisfy Geosetter's time frame to obtain POI location accuracy...

Thanks for the advice. This work also
I learned something new. \:D/

Bro, Sobamy
It's my habit that i want the timestamp to be correct.
It is useful info to me especially when doing mountain hiking or jungle trekking.
