Garmin GPS Database

The .gdb files are mapsource files, they can contain routes, tracks, waypoints & map segments that you have selected.

When saving your work in the most recent version of mapsource the default format to save in is Garmin database version 3(gdb format). There are a few other formats you can save in also, .gdb(V2), .mps, .txt, .dxf, & .gpx
