The last time I was there at BJ in Toa Payoh (2007), there was this musical trio attached to the Bar and it performed as well... plus we had beers going and we also tasted a home-brew beer from another brudder who has since "disappeared" or rather vanished from all contact & trace.... 
I may suspect it has to do with avoiding from Gomen swooping in on illicit bootlegging.... but I didn't think he was onto that....

His nick is either "poortraveller" or "PPoh". He had since migrated to down under to join Sotongkia.
