Yes I one of it! but I don't owned one! my father have it in my childhood days! He sell it and Get a Renault 12 and ride until no spare parts to get in 90's and sell it to get Proton cars and now still Proton.

I wish I have that two cars so that I can refurbished and revive back to those days how he enjoy taking us out for the ride..!

Cheers!

I father used to owned few "Shanghai Beach" Day cars..
The last one that I remember was Austin 8, Sold it to my uncle for RM100 back in 60's. Got a Ford Cortina

Few years back I went looking for it... it left only the Body and frame...
Last year went look for it..  it no more laying there anymore..

Ask my brother to buy and keep one of the MG Sport back in late 70's for RM1300, but he sold to my uncle again.. for RM1500..

I love Herbie...

Use to own similar, 1962 1200 Bug,, during my studying days.. too poor that time to upgrade, just fuel up and go.

Blow up the engine along Subang Airport - Subang Jaya Road (that was fast road then) at night 2 days before hari raya in 85' and spend Hari raya in Ipoh, Jalan Bendahara looking for scraps engine to rebuild (that was the days).. then redo the engine from scrap... literally scrap ... #-o

The bugs teach me to be good mechanically due to lack of cash,,, and I can overhaul the engine single handedly.. in one day.... :tease:

Beautiful car..., I wish I still have . it.
