chlesoh wrote:Yes the lense from Panasonic, the 20mm pancake (more so for the 14-140mm GH1's lense) is expensive, but it is also beautiful. Relatively, if you compare it with what other manufacturers has to offer, given the presence of its aspherical and ED lenses, it is actually cheaper.

Jeremaze, let me know what is the best price you can get. The best quote I got so far is RM3,299 for the 20mm. Free 8GB Panasonic Gold SD card, original Panasonic tripod, original Panasonic carrying case. Best of all, credit card payment with 12 months interest free instalment :D

recently one of my friend got dealership from panasonic GF1, but i dont think he can sell very cheap compare to the price u got.
let me know if you want to check price from him.

I think the GF1's price is dropping. So is GH1. As GH2 and GH10 are coming out soon, and overseas' price is much much cheaper, they need to lower their price anyhow.

Comparing the GH1's retail price at a whopping RM6,999 with Canon 500D's (kit lense 18-200mm) RM4,888, Panasonic is selling at a premium price where in overseas, both are comparatively priced, with Canon at a slightly lower price.

Yes the camera is good but the price is ridiculous. The best price I can get so far is RM5,999 but it is still way above the 500D (18-200mm lense). Not to mention I can get further discount on the 500D. Furthermore, 550D is just out with the capability of AVCHD also.
