Suggest u dun take the kit 18-105mm, just go for the very versatile 18-200mm.

My friend bought D300 from a shop at ground floor Komtar a week before Nikon launched D300s at price Rm4300. Now i think the price should be lower.
And for lens, if you like to travel better get 18-200mm. It covers from wide angle to tele.
