Since you have a 205W, you can enable it to do a one-second track log. No need to buy another logger. If you want to patch your nuvi, read here. In this thread too, tells an alternative to patching, which is to use the Easter egg method.
Happy tracking.

Hey bro leon,
I am also happy that more and more people are coming from Sabah & Sarawak. We are currently looking for user/contributor from your area for developing & feedback MFM map.
As bro alyem & tympg are updating sarawak area, if you happen to go to Sindumin, Sipitang, Beaufort, KK, please also feedback and contribute tracklogs & POIs in the Sabah .
I am more that willing to guide you. If u happen to visit Labuan, please do call me.
So what should I do now? Pls give some directions. Thank you.
Do like Bro zamad guide u.
I know u r kinda blur-blur how to use your gps unit now, just play around with it. Do some experiment yourself.
Perhaps to start with garmin maps, u should install Mapsource on ur pc. U try doing the tracking, then connect your garmin to your pc, open mapsource, then open your track in the mapsource. Thats the beginning of the passion..

SIBU road names and POI
here are the road names and POIs in SIBU, sarawak. it is based on v1.65 mfm.
i do NOT draw these roads. i just give the road names base on a few internet searches. i dunno how to write/enter the road names into the map. so i just draw the tracks on existing road and give the track a road name. if u see a track overides on a road that already has a name, that means the existing/old road name ls wrong. besides that, there are also many names that has wrong spelling. so, i have included together a TXT file while the correct names. hope thos pro mappers can help label up the road in kuching map.

Re: Sarawak Feedback
Wow, bro Skylinestar,
That's almost 20 POIs and 600 names for the roads and lanes... Thank you.
Since you're already familiar with Mapsource, it is now a breeze. You do not have to re-trace the tracks. This is how I would do the feedback:
1. On (or very near to) the 'unnamed' track, use the Waypoint Tool to mark the track, then give it a name.
2. Repeat Step 1, until you run out of unnamed tracks.

i don't understand. u mean i just have to add a waypoint next to the road? but that may only sounds logical if the road has less branches.
Re: Sarawak Feedback
Yes, just put the Waypoint on/by the road. If you have a graphics editor, you can also annotate your map with arrows and lines. That might help.

The way you draw the tracks and label the road name is good. Based on your tracks I can easily know the starting point and ending point of your roads, ammend the existing roads and copy and paste the road names easily. You can continue to use this method.
Well done and keep it up!!!

kuching-sibu highway
now i'm using mfm 1.67. thanks to the mappers that have added in the extra label and poi and typo errors.
i found out that the highway link between kuching and sibu is totally missing. i'm just wondering why there's no one making this road. as far as i know, even google maps has this road, quite detail too, with the small towns and kampung along the highway. i'm not sure whether the road in google maps is the new (the straightened one) or old road, but anyway, it's nice to be included in our mfm too.

Google maps show only 20% of the road in good clear view, but the rest of the 80% by guessing..
It will be good if someone from MFM in Kuching or Sibu can do a reccee on that track then contribute to us for updating...
