Hi OngCC,

I saw that the postal codes for the blocks 88-91 Tanglin Halt Road was not present.

Attached is a .gdb file with the waypoints for the buildings with the postal codes attached to the end of it.

I was not able to find the custom icon for the HDB sign, so the waypoints are the standard "black flags". As this is my first time contributing postal codes so (I hope you can cut me a little slack and) let me know how I can improve the contribution.

Cheers,
James

POI problem. Woodlands Civic Centre is visible but not searchable.

It can be found in GPS devices, same as private clinic.

In Mapsource, use Find Nearest Places (Ctrl+Shift+F).
Upload your contribution to MFM drop box if you don't want others to take your contributed tracklogs or POIs.

Is there a limitation on the "All Points of Interest" search? Woodlands Regional Library is also not searchable. I'm able to find other POI, such as Sembawang Town Council (Woodlands Collection Centre), Hdb Woodlands Branch Office, etc. Find Nearest Places is not that useful unless I am near Woodlands Civic Centre itself.

Hi OngCC,

I noticed that one of the streets for "Phillips Avenue" is spelt incorrectly. There is a search result for "Philips Avenue" at N1 21.832 E103 52.814; which is incorrect the spelling should have double-Ls. Attached is a screenshot.

Also, I noticed that Phillips Avenue is not street numbers accurate (as in I cannot search for a particular house number along that street). If I were to contribute the appropriate waypoints, how should I go about it? Is there a guide of somesorts?

Best regards,
James

Hi OngCC,

Would you be able to take a look at this routing and see if it can be improved?

Attached as a screenshot is are 2 routings. The waypoints are the same "606 Yishun St 61" and "Yishun Avenue 2" (waypoints and routes are attached in the .gdb file).

The Yellow coloured route is from "606 Yishun St 61" to "Yishun Avenue 2".
The Purple coloured route is from "Yishun Avenue 2" to "606 Yishun St 61".

From my experience driving that route, the Yellow route is much faster both ways, to and from "606 Yishun St 61". Is there any way to make the Mapsource and Garmin route via the Yellow route both ways? Thanks!

Best regards,
James

Hi, existing Gemmil Lane incomplete. Gemmil Lane is connected to Amoy Street at A to B (which is not in the current Map Ver 091221) and was changed to a one way street as indicated. Part of Amoy Street from A to C is currently closed due to construction. Not sure if it will be re-open in the future.

Hi,

I tried a route from Yio Chu Kang MRT Station to 158 Countryside Road. The fastest and shortest route is via a U-turn at the junction of Ang Mo Kio Ave 6 and Ang Mo Kio Ave 5. As seen from Google Maps: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Yio+Chu+Kang+MRT+Station,+Singapore+569806+(Yio+Chu+Kang)&daddr=158+Countryside+Rd,+Singapore&hl=en&geocode=FREWFQAd0oswBimfS1Wn6hbaMTGgwPeOrfcAHQ%3BFeIrFQAdungwBinbF3-nvhbaMTGCK0o2PvlZNw&mra=ls&sll=1.38363,103.84136&sspn=0.019907,0.0421&ie=UTF8&ll=1.381182,103.846765&spn=0.019907,0.0421&z=15

With MFM 091221, Mapsource and Garmin 255W will route via Ang Mo Kio Ave 4 (regardless whether the setting is Fastest Route or Shortest Route). This leads me to believe that the U-turn at the Ang Mo Kio Ave 6 and Ang Mo Kio Ave 5 juction was not coded.

I've attached the waypoints in the .gdb file and a screenshot showing the U-turns that I know are valid at that junction (you can make U-turns when travelling southwards and eastwards). I'm not sure if U-turns when travelling westwards and northwards at that junction is valid; I will update you when I know.

Best regards,
James

Did you disable u-turn? - OngCC
