You type REGEDIT at:
start-run.png


And then import REG file at REGEDIT:
regedit.png

This the way I do it.
Download the mapsource.reg and it will show mapsource.reg.txt. Rename the mapsource.reg.txt to mapsource.reg, right click and choose "merge".

Need help...
For no apparent reason when I open MapSource, I get this error message:
"There is a problem with the Family 8447 installation. Please re-install Family 8447 and start MapSource again"
What is Family 8447 and how do I reinstall it? I reinstalled MapSource but the problem persists with the same error message when I start it.

One of your map is corrupted or not installed properly.

Re-install will not help if you did not totally uninstall the original installation. You need to first use Windows to uninstall then edit the windows registry to remove all remains of mapsource. Only then re-install mapsource.

Bro Silver is correct. Anyway, since the culprit is one of the mapset, you can use Mapsettoolkit to identify the problematic mapset and uninstall it. Get a free copy of Mapsettoolkit from here: http://cypherman1.googlepages.com/

Why after i managed to merge the registry successfully, and double click the Garmin Mapsource, the system said the the garmin mapsource is not a valid win32 application? :ko:

BTW, love this site and kudos to all hard work all of u putting in it :thumbsup:

Help bros!

I just opened Mapsource as usual. Lo and behold! I got this error message.

Mapsource doesn't load at all.

I uninstall Mapsource. Re-downloaded Mapsource 6156. Then reinstall, with the mapsource.reg first. Still the same error message.

May I know how to resolve this?
