Postby fauzee » Fri Jul 17, 2009 7:27 pm

hi members..just sharing about road technical term & standard practice by JKR..Sometimes we can't understand what Technical peoples said or we don't know what the meaning of the words..We can also use the this term to explanation and make our mappers more clear and easier to understand what we understand!!

1. About Dual Carriageway & Single Carriageway. Dual carriage usually known as 2 ways 2 lane & Single Carriage usually known as 2 way 1 lane.

2. About Road.
-Unpaved Road = The road with no proper pavement.
-Rigid Pavement = The Concrete road.
-Interlocking Pavement = like puzzle block.
-Flexible Pavement/Asphaltic Concrete= usually known as Pre-Mix,Tarred road,Tarmic Road..
-Paver :-? :-? what is that..

3. About Barrier.
-Guard Rail
-Road Shoulder
-Wire Rope barrier
-Concrete Barrier
-Island
-Median
-Tranverse Bar/Speed Breaker

Just give this simple thing for this time.

Since you are working on that particular area, you've done a great job fauzee :good:
With all those photos, now all of our members will more understand when they need some references about the road specs when they are doing tracking.
Hope we will meet again bro.. =P~
