Face-Off : Nuvi 260W vs Oregon 300
managed to bring my newly patch Nuvi with 1-sec tracklog for Jalan-Jalan, of course with a purpose -> to see how accurate it is and whether if it lock to road when selecting 'Automotive mode'
Since it doesn't indicate accuracy, I happily presume my Oregon 2m accuracy as reference (displayed)
the following is the results:
in general, the nuvi perform well, with occasionally off track as seen. Oregon was relatively stable (hey it is suppose to be a tracking device). and yes, nuvi doesn't locked to road
inspecting the tracklog, got a shock initially as the 2 files were completely out of sync (comparing time versus time). however after picking a 'common' point @ POI-001 and compare, realised that there is a time difference of 14sec (Oregon 4:38:45pm versus Nuvi 4:38:59pm). Not sure what went wrong (I thought they all downloaded timestamp from SAT ??). With this offset, can see that more or less they are quite inline (speed for example)
Nuvi doesn't have altitute info. refer to next 2 screen shot for info.
How to patch N2x0W/2x5W/7x0/7x5 to enable 1-sec tracklog

the tracklogs for the 2 devices. in case you are interested to further compare
this concluded that nuvi can track too, with decent accuracy
neadrenali and Jason, you guys had just enable a whole bunch of track loggers for mfm !!

hooray.. my 205 is patched!
the thing is.. when i press the 'Next' button after the speedometer screen, it scrolls to the usual screens i normally see. so to get to the 'Start Recording' screen, i had to press the 'Dump' button.. maybe it's a 205 thing..
anyway excellent work bro jason!

Welcome to the club.
For the new 'Glamour Menus' of the 205s and the 7 series, the button to press is Dump and not Next but as you have found out, there is no harm in exploring all the buttons available and maybe discover for our benefit more hidden features.
Actually, I also found by accident a satellite lock accuracy screen in my Nuvi 200 but so far have not been able to duplicate it. Let me share with you all what happened and perhaps somebody can find a way to get to the screen again:
One day I was routed to a certain destination and I was scrolling through all the turns to see if the routing was acceptable. I was still driving but as I reached the last page of turn instructions, I also deviated from the route so the unit recalculated. At that point, the last page of turn instructions became a page to show the accuracy of the satellite lock - first it showed 4 metres then 3 metres. Then I touched the back button then scrolled again to the last page of turn instructions to see if the accuracy page was still there. Alas, it was not there anymore and I could not get it back.

Not satellite view page but a half-screen showing accuracy in words only.
