JasonLee wrote:d) The patch must be applied while the GPS is in the Pre-boot Mode or in the Diagnostic Mode. There are 2 ways to enter the Pre-boot Mode:
i. Move the power switch of your unit to ON and hold it for more than 30 seconds in the ON position. You are in the pre-boot mode when you see the LOADER message. Keep holding the switch to ON and connect your USB cable. Wait for 3-5 seconds or longer for your PC to recognise your unit. After the drivers are loaded (your PC will beep), run the updater.exe file and release the power switch only when you see data being transferred from your PC to your unit. Wait for the LOADING or flashing to complete uninterrupted.

ii. If you get a calibration screen inviting you to press the dot when you held the power switch for more than 30 seconds then you have to use this alternative method. Hold the switch to ON for only 5 seconds then connect the USB cable, wait for 3-5 seconds or longer for your PC to recognise your unit. After the drivers are loaded (your PC will beep), run the updater.exe and release the power switch only when you see data being transferred to your unit. Wait for the LOADING or flashing to complete uninterrupted. If the calibration screen comes on before you can run the updater.exe, it means you have held the switch to ON for too long (more than 30 seconds). Switch off the unit and start over.

e) If the above 2 methods do not work for you, switch on normally and then touch the battery icon for 10 seconds for the unit to get into the Diagnostic Mode. (Incidentally, you can charge your battery with your PC using a USB cable if you plug the USB cable in when the unit is in the Diagnostic Mode.) Then connect the USB cable, wait for 3-5 seconds or longer for your PC to recognise your unit. Run the updater.exe. Wait for the LOADING or flashing to complete uninterrupted.

Wau wee.......... :peace: I have successfully flashed the patch.

But initially I couldn't flash using the above three methods. Success using the forth method below;
1. Hold your finger and keep pressing on nuvi's screen.
2. Move power switch "ON" and quickly move to opposite "LOCK" position.
3. Connect USB cable.
4. Wait for 3-5 seconds or longer for your PC to recognise your unit.
5. Run the updater.exe (Remember to rename 075401000460en_tracklog_fast_menu.rgn to 075401000460.rgn before use with updater.exe).
6. Wait for the word "LOADING" appears or flashing, release your finger from Nuvi's screen and wait until the patch uploads to complete uninterrupted.

The above method is proven working in my Nuvi 760.

Will try the tracking tomorrow and feedback again. \:D/

:tq: bro JasonLee

[-o< bro JasonLee, need help pls..... [-o<

I have recorded a tracklog this morning and try to convert to .gpx with the wNutrak015. Followed exactly the advice given by you in previous post here .

After hitting the "convert" button, error message pops up saying;
"Wrong header format.
Converted 0 files"

I also found that there is an extra .bin file in my "Logs" folder. All together there are three .bin files in the Logs folder. The 3rd file is traffic.bin :-k Pls refer to the picture attached.

I am using the patch "fw_nuvi7x0_id0754_en_v460+tracklog" for my Nuvi 760 (with FW-v4.60).

Pls help..... [-o<

Try this newer version of wNutrak016 and let me know the result. You may also try moving the traffic.bin out of the subfolder before converting.

Found some time to investigate the newly acquired '1-second' track log feature on my nuvi 205W. I'm truly impressed with the additional features that the nuvi 205W HWID0827 now has.

On the 'View Map' screen, press Speed >> Speedometer (about 10 seconds) gets you to screen 1.

Screen 1
On the bottom of this shutdown screen. press the Dump button.

Screen 2
If you had acquired satellite reception then both Start Playback and Start Recording buttons will appear. Otherwise the Start Recording option will be greyed out.

Screen 3
All your previous track logs with the datestamp are listed here, unless you've deleted them.

Screen 4
This is the Play Log page. 3 out of 4 types of playback data are selectable. The ones ticked are the default. These correspond to the binary files (gps.bin, nav.bin and traffic.bin) that are stored in the nuvi. In my case, stored in the SD card. At the bottom of the screen are four blue buttons: Pressing the first blue button changes the offset unit from hour to minute to second and back to hour. Pressing the second or third blue button increases or or decreases that time unit by one. This will be the start of your playback, after the time offset. I did a 5-minute offset. Pressing Play brings you to the Playback Screen.

Screen 5
The second and third buttons at the top enables you to further jog your playback to 5-second reverse or forward. There is also a elapsed time display to the right of these buttons. Pressing Quit brings you to the standby mode. Pressing Stop brings you to the Log Playback Pause page.

Screen 6
This page shows your routing config at the pause position, in this case, at 00:07:38.

I finally sussed it out! The folder in which your tracks are saved is really the date/time stamp. It is in the format "YYYYMMDD_HHMMSS". The HH is in UTC or GMT, i.e. 8 hours behind us. Hence a filename "20090327_083158" means logging started on the 27th March 2009 at 08:31:58 UTC or 27 March 2009 at 16:31:58 local time.

Note2. To access tracklog menu on nuvi 7x0, 2x5, 2x5w, 7x5 you need to press on speedometer and then press on 'Del' ('Dump') button.
Note3. There is no possibility at all to unhide tracklog on nuvi 610/660/670/680 and zumo 450/500/550 - there is no hidden tracklog there.
As for TODO items - please specify, do you need them too?
If you know that another HWID exists, please let me know.
