The instructions below is based on the Garmin nüvi 2575RLM to enable 1-second track logging. While care is taken to write this How-To article as accurate as I can, I assume no responsibility should you follow it and brick your nüvi.

Switch on your nüvi, and wait until you see the Main Screen.
1. Press (1) [= View Map].
2. At the bottom-right of the Navigation Screen, press (2) [= Speed Indicator]

3. You will see the Speedometer at the top-centre of the page. Press and hold (3) [= Speedometer] until the Diagnostic Page appears. You need to continually press (= hold) the speedometer for around 6 seconds.
4. Press the down button on the left of the page to get to page 2, then press (4) [= Diagnostic Logging]

continued from previous post...

5. On tthe Logging Control page, press (5) [= Start Recording]
6. On 'Select Data to Log' page, press (6) [= GPX].
If you choose 'BIN' then the check boxes on the right would be enabled. I've not tried what it does.

7. After you've selected 'GPX', press (7) [= Menu]

continued from previous post...

9. You have actually started recording the moment you pressed (8) just now. Press (9) to STOP recording.
10. Once you stop recording, you will be brought back to 'Logging Control' page. Press/Hold (10) [= Return] to return to the Main Screen.

So where are the recorded files?
1. They are stored, but hidden, in the main memory of the nüvi, here: x:/.System/Logs/gpx with a filename like 20120325_074844.gpx.
2. The first 8 characters of the filename is the date of the recording, the last 6 characters is the time of the start of the recording using UTC=0. Just add 8 hours if you're at UTC +8 (i.e. for Malaysia, Singapore & Brunei).
3. The timestamp of the tracks also uses UTC=0.

End of Instructions. Have fun...
