See if you can understand this.

The software Mapsource, is it just for Garmin device? How about Papago? Now I use Papago H8.

Read this: How to Manage Papago POIs with MapSource (23/8/2009)

In summary,

  1. During navigation, add your location as a Favorite in Papago.
Go to Mode (press on Lower Right Corner of screen), then press Add to POI.
  2. Later, connect your Papago device to your PC via a USB cable and go to USB storage mode.
With your Papago device plugged in to the PC, unplug then plug in again so that a warning message comes up: "Warning: USB Cable detected! Switch to storage mode?" Click OK to this to go to USB storage mode.
  3. Find the DAT file (something like PaPaGOPOI.dat) in NAVI\Save folder
  4. Use the Papago POI Tool to convert the DAT file into GPX file.
  5. Open the GPX file in MapSource and save as a GDB file for submission, OR, just submit in GPX format.
