this happened to me too.. but i think i know why.. after the recently addition of the misc business POI thing in the generation of maps, the coordinates of the old maps somehow coincide with the new coordinates on the newly created business POI therefore the recent find is all the unknown location.. jus wat i think btw..

I downloaded the Mapsource file and created the gmapsupp.img file. I selected customisation and selected everything except Chinese POI. Then copied the gmapsupp.img file to my GMXT.

Everything works fine, so far. However, as some of you observed, in my Recent Finds, I also found a lot of places I did not go to, including many places in M'sia. I am sure I never been to these locations before, so not a case of something mapping to a location I have been to.

Mfm Poi 100316

I wonder where there are two Mfm Poi maps.

The extra POI map is the "special" custom icons map for newer Nuvi 765, 1460, etc. If you had not selected the option to "Enable custom icon display for Nuvi 765..." when generating map using the installer, there would be only 1 MFM POI map.

Thanks. Even though I think I don't need this for my GMXT on N95, I guess there is no harm leaving it?

I wanna make sure I'm doing this right - basically I need only the maps for Peninsular Malaysia. Is it safe to assume that anything related to Sabah, Sarawak, Singapore, Thailand and Brunei are safe to delete before sending the maps to my Garmin? There are some maps like MFM EPM and MFM NPM that I'm not sure about.

Correct, just exclude all Singapore/SG, Sarawak, Sabah, Brunei and Thailand map tiles. BTW, NPM=North Peninsular Malaysia, EPM=East Peninsular Malaysia.
