I have no issues searching for addresses in Mapsource (country is not specified).

Definitely there is a major issue with the address search for the current release and the previous two as well.

Thought the current release would address the search issue but still find it.

My experience todate:-
MapSource - no problem in searching for road names
GMXT - no problem in searching for road names
Garmin 60CSx - MAJOR PROBLEM!! :cry:

When I use the "FIND" function and choose "ADDRESSES" option with default region being "MALAYSIA":-
a) first when trying to enter <CITY>, it automatically displays "JOHOR BAHRU, JHR";
b) if I try to key in anything else, the search function won't allow;
c) thus can't search any further.

Since I find this to be improbable given that MapSource and GMXT don't display the same "malfunction", in "ADDRESS" I select "REGION". Once inside, I see the following regions:-
2 of Brunei
1 of Central Thailand
2 of Malaysia
1 of Myanmar
1 of Northeastern Thailand
1 of Singapore
1 of Southern Thailand
1 of Thailand
1 of Vietnam

What I do is select the 2nd Malaysia region, and once this is done, I have no problem with searching for addresses using my 60CSx. Do a test on Brunei region as well - even worse - the first Brunei region no city at all; but if the second Brunei region is chosen, voila all the cities are there and can be selected.

Can the sifu mappers look at this issue and determine if my prognosis is correct, i.e. the search problem comes about due to having 2 regions of the same name?

Thanks.

As mentioned earlier you need to change/spell country before proceeding with the search.
dvpro wrote:I believe there's a bug with the address search starting from last week's release. One needs to change the country to Malaysia although Malaysia is already selected (not an issue if selected country is not Malaysia in the first place). However, this process must be repeated every time Nuvi is switched off and reboot. Tested in both Nuvi and Dakota.

In my nuvi 205W which contained 255W's firmware, the POIs disappear at 800m level.

In Windows Mobile's GMXT, they disappear at 2km.

The above maps are transffered via Mapsource 6.16.2.

In Mapsource, they disappear at 1km level.

All map detail were set to highest.

Thanks for the feedback, will try to find out the root cause.
