Naming convention for car dealers

Postby sentry » Mon Oct 27, 2008 11:39 am

Is there a standard naming convention for car dealer naming convention? It could be confusing for users. Eg.

- for Nissan, some use Nissan, some use Tan Chong
- for Honda, some use Honda (eg for Motoria in Perai) , some use the name of company that operate that center (eg. Magna speed in Kulim, Kedah), some has both the brand (Honda) and the company name included.

the list goes on for other brands......

Any suggestions to standardize it?

Yes... some dealers sells not only 1 brand of cars but they have their sign board printed HONDA, or NISSAN etc.

I Proposed:

Nissan (Tan Chong) Weld Quay
Toyota (Umw Motor) Jelutong Pg
Honda (Vivahills Auto) Penang
Honda (Motoria) Perai
...

So the user may have option to search with the company name or the brands for the same POI.

What about for workshops?

Some are specific, some are general. The company name differentiate them.

Would it be like so...

<Company> <Honda> Ampang Selangor or
<Company> <Battery Tyre> Ampang Selangor or

I have a question to ask,
Why must we include the dealer's name?
is there any difference for example, buying a car from kah motor or weststar (honda)
i think the brand name is sufficient enough

just my opinion

ohhh different!

When if you buy Nissan car from Xxx motor instead of from Tan Chong (which is Nissan distributor) for example.

Xxx motor cheated you selling high price for the same model compare to tan chong. You need to tell the public exactly which car dealer cheated you. How do you differenciate this Nissan dealer and that Nissan dealer? :tease: :tease:

i agree... let's just keep it simple...
example
Proton USJ 10
Volkswagen J Ampang
Volvo Sg Besi
Nissan J Kemajuan

If any "report" of mischevious dealer (like bro doreamon suggest), we can always tag it with a Lon/Lat or better a picture of that dealership.
