Just want to know

Need some explaination from our senior members here.
Why the track recorded from our PND (mine is PAPAGO Z1) some time the recorded track is far 2 to 4 cm away from the road (viewed in mapsource) and some sitting nicely or run only few mm away from the road. Anyone can explain what could be the causes.
