Wah, bro Moey, looks like a very nice place for hawker food; very pleasant environment. I will be up in Penang early Aug to meet up with a couple of Penangites for golf. May drop in there one of the nites; hopefully the Guinness girl (I like black stuff) will still be there.

I did pass by Sri Pinang but did not get the chance to eat there. Too many eating appointments with my Penang kakis who took me around to refresh my taste buds memory - fried kueh teow (2 sisters, but now changed chef), prawn mee, chendol (still as tasty as ever), rojak (but now they add in taupok like in Spore), nasi kandar, bbq stingray, lobak, and noodle dishes at Ang Hoay Lor. Was also at the Northam hawker centre (no pretty Guinness girl; only a fat lady pushing Tiger!).
As for golf, we played at Cinta Sayang at Sg Patani (great promotion RM280 per flight of 4 to include buggy and lunch!), Bukit Jambul (only 1 nine that has been very nicely renovated but retaining its excellent course design; 2nd nine in progress), and Bukit Jawi (nice course with pretty caddies but a bit pricey - the course, I mean!). And after golf we went to a nice relaxing place for foot reflexology; the guys there are very well trained, but after 2 consecutive days of massage, my sore legs and shoulders could not take a 3rd round!
While the guys went to golf, the gals were be shown around George Town which is now a UNESCO classified Heritage site. My better-half is very impressed with all the good work done to spruce up the city; she found Little India very interesting.
Off golf, we also took a brief trip to Penang Hills riding on the new cable tram. Very pretty views up there; worth spending half the day. But the cable tram cost is a rip-off - RM30 for foreigners and RM4 for local senior citizens. Hmm... that's not good at all!
Overall a most enjoyable trip to Penang; the Bayan Lepas airport should look great once all the renovations are completed.

Thanks Bro Moey - always a pleasure to visit Penang. As a kampong boy from Taiping, visiting Penang as a kid was like entering the city of bright lights. Penang was a free port then and things were cheap; riding the ferry was also a thrill (as a matter of fact, during the recent trip, my friend used the ferry to return back to Penang after golf at Bukit Jawi). Penang is one of my favourites - if only Or Kow is as cheap as in Langkawi!
