Postal Code search

Postby oliverpool » Fri May 08, 2009 5:51 pm

I been searching but still cant find if MFM latest map support the postal code search. This will really speed up address searching as the QWERTY way of search via touch screen is not exactly very quick :-p Anyone can post a tutorial on what to install and how to actually search via postal code? Thanks!

Not additional file need to be installed. At the moment, we have 12k postal codes in the map. The postal code can be searched by POI.

Do you already have the postal code database but no time to implement ? or roll in by phases
If you need help to get postal code by section and roll in phase by phase..do let us know..I can help to manually(not so smart way) get that section.

I know there is Google Map applet that can trace Postal code by pointing to the building.

I find searching Building by postal code is very convenient..As Garmin keyboard layout is not Qwerty format..very annoying to find where the characters are..

Please don't get the forum or me into the trouble... [-o< I do not wish to get a lover letter from any authority which hold the copyright of the postal code.

Oops..please dont get me wrong. I am just asking questions simply wanted to help.. no complex agenda behind, furthermore i am a GPS Newbie..

I dont mean to steal people copyright stuff. The question of database is referring to your own version of work ,nothing as complicated as you misunderstood.

I am happy user of MFM,just feel like contributing to MFM .
