I've downloaded MFM map onto my computer without using Map Source. I've run the installation, created the gmapsupp.img and saved it onto my nuvi 205 Garmin folder. However, when I go to Tools > Settings > Maps, the map I have uploaded isn't there.

What is the problem? Thanks guys.

If stored in SD card/garmin, remove SD card and re-insert, sometimes contact problem

If stored in MainMemory/garmin, check spelling of gmapsupp.img .... alphabet by alphabet...
Re-download and create fresh file ... sometimes file corrupted.

It is recommended to put new maps into SD card.

Backup - remove the USA map and see if it helps.

thanks silverbeauty

thought that just now
removed the 1.6gb mapp of US

still the same
copy the gmapsupp to the internal
(create a map folder to .system - NG
place it on the same as the US gmapprom - also NG)

edit: NG here is the unit did not see the map

zzzz

btw, if i try to route from penang to kl
and try to run it
the unit hangs and shut off

You are walking dangerous grounds by employing trial and error experimentation. The result could be a bricked Nuvi.

It may be a system file corruption that is causing the problem.

If under warranty suggest you bring it back to dealer you bought it from to have it fix.
