How to view malfreemaps on mapsource and base camp?

I have just gotten a Montana and i have turn blue trying to get malfreemaps to show up on map source or base camp. I have went through the FAQ and newbies sections but wasn't in luck. Is there a need to convert gmapsupp.img to .gpx?

I am trying to add poi and plan a route or viewing on the computer rather viewing on a small screen gps device.

I have had Nuvi and it was straight forward simple. Download unpack and tranfer to nuvi unit. Viola done.

This montana is giving me blueballs.

I downloaded map source 6.16.3

Installed

open map source and there are no maps.

I go to open file tab but cannot open any files from malsingmaps files.

Open mapsource

Go to view tab

Go to switch to product

Select malfreemaps

Viola done.

download the exe file and run it to install map.
after that open mapsource and choose the map.

I have tried your method but it didn't work. Not that simple for newbie like me. Maybe i am just not that good with computer.
Tried and tried and tried. No map to display at all. Then i accidentally stumble on youtube video about mapsource opening map.

Open the mapsource - Select view - Select switch to product - select malfreemaps
