Updating Maps

Postby Zack » Wed Jul 06, 2011 11:16 pm

My GPS using Papago X5.2 and the existing maps is MFM PPG Version 26-1-11. Yesterday I download MFM Papago Map 110601 from Malfreemaps to my PC and after that copy to my GPS. Everything is ok, but when I check the GPS maps through Advance Setting>Software>Mapswitch, its shows MFM PPG Version 26-1-11. Does its mean the map is still not changed and the GPS still using the old version map? But when I check through my PC>Removable Disk (D)>Navi>Maps, it shows MFM-PPG_110601C. Sifus, please help me, many thanks

You have to choose the correct version of map to install, either Custom or Standard.
During the installation process, remember to select papago version x5!

BTW, MFM-PPG-110705C is out and I have just installed it in to my papago X5 without any problem

Dear Sir,

Install here means download the .exe file and copy and paste to the SD card ?
and then do the "Advance Setting>Software>Mapswitch " ???

Thanks in advance.

Dear Sir,
I wanna reply that thread, but it is locked, thus asking here.

1. your installation method apply to car GPS ?
2. if Q1 is YES, then do we need to take out the SD card and insert to reader and connected to PC for installation ?
3. Or it is just as simple as connected the whole Car GPS to PC for installation by clicking the .exe file computer C:\?

Sorry for newbie question.

I believe for car or phone GPS map update procedures are the same. Either remove SD Card from device and plug into a PC or connect the GPS device to the PC. You can also install the files into the PC and then copy from there.

I downloaded the latest MFM-PPG map yesterday and run the installer. After that I copied all the files from the "map" directory to that in the WayWay unit.
But to my horror, when I started the GPS device, I could no longer see any map! Only the coordinate and the triangular pointer on the screen.
No problem with the search function (could still search all the POIs).

Any sifus here to let me know what had happened?

Thanks in advance!

1) Have you choosen the correct file?
2) Did you select the correct Papago version?
3) Was it copy to the correct map directory?
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
