how it works.. when you are in foreign country.. say uk.. when ah beng calls you from jb, he will be paying for the call charges from jb to kl (if ur line is registered in kl), and then.. from KL to uk.. you bear the cost.

THEN.. in case of missed calls, you still have to bear... why? because foreign telco will charge digi/maxis/celcom for 'using their line' although it is jst a missed call..

hack, even receiving sms we will get charged..

Wa-lau ... lucky my business Malaysia line not on DiGi else :$gone: :$gone: :$gone:

Is this akin only to DiGi or across the board with other telcos in Malaysia :-?

Strange, I've never been charged for missed calls overseas. But then I'm on DiGi Postpaid.

I know when roaming, it costs a bomb to make a call (more so if it's back to Malaysia) and in some some countries it costs a bomb to receive calls (apparently I got away with free incoming calls in Japan and Korea). SMS, outgoing -> expensive, incoming -> free.

Missed calls? Never got charged.

Best way to save money when out of your country? Get a local prepaid SIM. (Of course you have to inform everyone back home your number).

Actually when you roaming overseas, any telco also the charge is weird on certain part. That's why it is advisable that we use local sim to stay connected while overseas. Some of us afraid that they'll lost contact with friends & family while overseas if using local sim but there's always a way to use local sim with Malaysian number. Maxis charge for RM300 just for roaming registration. Digi & Maxis charge for data roaming RM38/day.. Use Flexiroam roaming service RM10/day to get unlimited voice roaming while overseas
