just go to malsingmaps and download their latest map yesterday, most of their kampung road are not up to date....

need more new bird to join and contribute ...

phone gps hardware seems lot better than garmin devices now..
but couldn't found an app that have the trace back feature like garmin.
anyone have idea on that? or has similar app to recommend?

I prefer a dedicated handheld GPS device anytime over a smart device's built-in GPS as the latter is power draining, and smart devices are not as robust as a real GPS device especially when it comes to outdoor trips into the nature.

Of course, GPS apps have a lot of functionalities and impressive features but I rather have reliability and robustness anytime. Which is why I still travel with my faithful Garmin 60CSx though its rubber skin is cracking up and it occasionally throws tantrum (hangs).

yes. I agree with you and that is the advantages of Garmin device, I was having a etrex HCX but now die. I am a hiker too so i know Garmin feature well. but just think that Garmin seems not improve much on the hardware and also quite expensive compare to others.

now still not decide to get a new unit or not....

Me too am considering getting a replacing Garmin handheld but not keen on the expensive Garmin models, budget allows perhaps only the eTrex 30 (Aeco Technologies is selling for RM1,225).
