Hi,

I need to get all of the hospitals and petrol stations POIs exported from a Garmin/Papago. is that possible?

if not, where can I download these POIs?

Thanks!

you can use mapsource to place a waypoint at the petrol station and then save them as txt. gpx or dxf format. you'll have to do it manually to export all the petrol stations.

alternatively, you could extract from google map by using a tool called GmapToGPX (google it for more info)

another way is to download from wikimapia.org through a site called Geodeg.com

note:Copyright is a serious matter. Understand that there is a clear distinction between facts (which cannot be copyrighted) and the representation of facts (which may be copyrightable). Looking at a copyrighted map to understand the fact that a city or street is located at certain geographic coordinates is fair use of that fact. Photocopying the map and selling it as your own work is not fair use. Taking someone else’s compiled map data and representing it as your own work is a crime. Please don’t violate these common-sense principles.

Hi,

Thanks for the advice :)

I noticed that by using geodeg.com or gmaptogpx, it only allows a maximum no of results. I can't generate more than 20 results to save at one time. Any idea?

On a side note, do you have any idea on what web map server can I use to host 3d mapping like what Garmin/Waze has?
