Hong Kong goverment also give money to its citizens last month. Taiwan did that last year (or year earlier).
The only different between SG and HK, Taiwan is the way money is distributed : both HK and Taiwan give equally to each and every citizen regardless of your income status, even HK billionair Lee K S or Taiwan President Ma also get the same amount as everybody; whereas SG distributed based on your income/household status.
I only get $300.00 cash and $400.00 in Medisave top-up.
BTW, the guy who make the police report did not complaint about getting money, he only don't like the date of getting it, and link it to so called "corruption".](./images/smilies/eusa_wall.gif "Brick wall")
