But I tot our Ku-band already capable of high data rate.
Even smaller dish like Ka-band capable of even higher bandwidth.
Coz when we need to change to new dish, its gonna be a big problem for condos and apartments which they r sharing a common dish and all those dish r bigger then ours at home.
Taiwan just launch their HD satellite transmission a couple of days back too but they only change their decoders and thats it....
Y ours so problem one.....

Apparently there are older kinda dish unable to receive HD programming correctly, and I think those silver Astro dish fall under this category.
I take everything in moderation, including moderation.

I mean, this is what i was waiting for, the picture was so vivid and lifelike, i could literally feel as though the whales(in national geographic HD) were coming at me.
Hmm If HD is so lively, what would the up coming 3D be

Just ask that the new HD smart card be used on the old decoder?

Wait till I'm back next week. I've been ready for years now.
Re: astro b.yond : High Definition
ok, just to clear up some questions and bear in mind these are my personal observations and may or may not be the case for everyone.
The past couple of days had some medium to heavy downpour in my area and the signals were unaffected as opposed to before i switched to astro b.yond. So i guess, the answer is yes, the new dish indeed improves the dreaded rain fade phenomenon. The new dish is also 5mm bigger than the previous.
Overall, after about 3 days of usage, i find the experience very good and like i mentioned before, even the non HD channels are much clearer and sharper, possibly due to the hdmi connection and/or the new dish and cabling too. New menu and guide system is very user friendly and the set top box has never hung even once, as compared to my astro max previously. it also starts up super fast.
