Howto simulate remote routes?

There is a feature in nuvi 1460 to setup routes but there is no way to simulate the route in your home location if it is a different start point. Even a stored route cannot be simulated, if start point is not home. This is a serious shortcoming.

Suppose I want to know ahead how to drive from A to B (could be in a different country). The GO button simulation (with GPS turned off) works only if A is GPS-fixated. Am I missing something here? :(

What is the purpose of stored route? I thot it is to save a frequent route which is customized (waypoints, nonoptimal, etc). But if I stored an A-B route how do I tell the device to use the stored route rather than its devised route.
Garmin - are u listening?

If you are now at Home location in Singapore, and you want to simulate a route from Point A to Point B in Country C, turn GPS off (simulation on), browse to Point A, Country C, then Set Location at that point. Now when you View Location, your vehicle will be at Point A. Then select Where To, to go to Point B.

The above is the method for all Nuvis and GMXT that I have tried so far. Not sure about 1460 but it should be similar.

I am not sure about stored route and how you simulate those routes.

Got it! Great thks tks
Now I can confirm (this may be posted in the wrong place - sorry) that the JCV file placed in SD/Garmin/JCV does not work (show Junctions) in my N America 2010.40.img which operates from SD/map folder of the 1460.

The question of defaulting to a preferred saved route still remains.
