Hi Everyone,
Just visited the asiagps website and discovered that their Thailand V2009 R4, which was just released is NO longer FREE. You will have to subscribe and pay for the maps. :( :(

 Its sad that the site is slowly turning commercial

Hello all,

The site asiagps.org has been providing free maps for 8 month now and will provide FREE maps in the future =D>

It is a matter of fact that 99% of our website visitors are just registering to download the free maps and off they go without any feedback, without ever contributing tracklogs or POI's or donating to us.

As you all know, the operation of a website with thousands of downloads costs traffic (money) which we have to pay for to our hosting company.
Website hosting is NOT free.

However, our aim is to keep the maps free. We will definitely have free maps (not the very latest one's) for download.
Members who actively support the map development by contributing at least 3 useful tracklogs will be granted free of charge access to the latest maps.

Freeloaders and those who opt for non supporting us by donating or contributing - or what is even worse - those who disrespect mappers hard work and intellectual property by uploading our maps to torrent websites, will simply have to wait until we release a mapset for free download in the future.

At the same time, I would like to express our thanks and appreciation to all those Malfreemaps-members who either donated or supported out maps development by contributing valuable tracklogs and POI's in the past. Those members are obviously being granted free access to our latest maps.
Thank you again and looking forward to your continuous support.

This is just to clarify the statement above.
Thanks

asiaGPS

PS: There was a typo. I mean MALFREEMAPS and not Malsingmaps, just corrected it.

There is no Bangkok map available on this site at the moment.

You may choose to go for one of the following maps:

Garmin nüvi 2575R; Garmin eTrex Vista HCx; Android 5.0.1 Phone

There is one/2 more site you can get free GPS maps of Bangkok. May not be routable or the latest but you will need to do a bit of work to get them downloaded and working on your gps. I have used them and was good enough for me - better than nothing. #-o Sorry no short cut approach, just need to badger your way tro with the various download tools. It is not that difficult if you are determine else the earlier recommended choice :$gone: will be the only one for now.

Have fun. And do sent us some tracklogs (1 sec interval) when you are there please!. :prayer:
