Slow in gps lock recently

Postby vash_h » Mon Jun 17, 2013 11:19 am

Is it just me or is anyone else facing this problem.

I drive to work everyday with my gps on nuvi 50lm. This free days gps lock is very slow. Same route same car same tint.

Usually lock is within seconds but nowadays luck takes 3 to 5 minutes.

Some other reasons,

1. maybe you need to do some spring cleaning of the GPSr i.e. too many files clogging up memory space
2. heat stress affecting the GPSr Components could be failing.

Don't have this problems in SG over the weekend. :-'

Time to do spring cleaning then. Have More than 500 favorites stored.

Don't think that the number of favorites effects the satellite lock.

My Nuvi 765 has about 900 favorites stored and it is still locking on in a decent time

If all variables concerning your usage pattern remains a constant, then something else might have effect satellite signals .. could be the atmosphere conditions changed :-? :-k
or maybe somebody put a gps jammer in your car

I know what's wrong....

The recent haze from a friendly neighbor is causing your problem... We know that burning wood produces ash and charcoal which is basically Carbon. With the westerly wind, fine particles of these Carbon particles fill the air around us and since, Carbon is a good conductor of electricity it will form a Faraday's shield across the sky. This will have dramatic effect on signals reception on wireless devices... So, your GPS may be struggling to decipher the long codes from the Satellites hence, delaying the signal lock....

If you believe what I wrote... please go back to school...
