Combined MFM and MSM Q&A

Your Gmapsupp.img is probably the MFM map combined with the MFM-SRTM topo map. If it is not the latest v1.70, you can update it.

The 93MB size of GMAPSUPP.IMG is most probably the result of combining both MFM and MSM, not MFM and topo, since TS is having problems when installing both MSM and MFM in device (and there is no recognized IMG file Nuvi other than MSM NT which is named GMAPPROM1.IMG).

Currently I have disable MSM's map and running on MFM's map by uncheck Malsingmaps Malaysia/Singapore/Brunei NT 2009.5 at TOOLS->SETTINGS->MAP->MAP INFO.

I believe you have a combined MFM and MSM in Nuvi which is named as GMAPSUPP.IMG. Since it's a combined map file, to remove both combined MFM + MSM map, delete that IMG map file first, and reinstall with MFM's GMAPSUPP.IMG. Before deleting original files, do back them up first.

So far my MFM's map is working fine. But after I cut the MFM's img file out and load the MSM file in my GPS, I can't see the map. Even I go in to Tools->Settings->map->map info and want to check/ tick the Malsingmaps MY/SG/BR NT 2009.5 file also cannot.

Anyone that can help me on this??

After you have installed MSM NT map, is it listed at Map Info? When turning on Nuvi, do you get msg "Can't unlock map"? BTW, it's more appropriate to post this question over at MSM.

Yes, it is listed at map info but I can't tick/check it.

There is no error message like what you have mention. I think the "can't unlock map" is due to didn't request the unlock code and chnage it at gmapprom1.unl, right??

the img file name is gmapprom1.img
