Google maps are routable. But the road/route data appears to be from MapIT that's much less updated than MFM. They're still not using road data from their own GMM (http://mapmaker.google.com).

They also have Transit (Komuter, LRT and buses) information. But Monorail info is not yet actually there, http://t.co/JlvgHF2J . The buses info are not yet complete.

i wonder who exactly is providing the traffic info and what method they use to collect these live traffic info..?

Google uses a phenomenon, known as “crowdsourcing” ... The question is which phone OS platform are they extracting the data from :-'

Are they (Google) operating on the same principle as Waze, as far as live traffic is concerned?

My guess, google is auto, waze is manual. :)
