yalo.. i wrote an official email to complaint to garmin about this.. bt they no reply.. so let it b lo., JCV is not to die for.. i tested MFM's papago JCV jst now, and i must say.. it is something that is GOOD TO HAVE, but not a NEED TO HAVE..

i doubt how long the email will come back to u.

anyway, JCV is just an additional feature, as what u said, GOOD to have, not MUST have. The important thing is the basic feature that we can do navigation. Alternative, u can load the SgMal City Navigator NT 2009.31 map to enable the JCV (correct me if i m wrong), but the map is not so up to date.

For newbie, it is not so encourage to flash the unit.

My 205w can't flashing when I pull the button to left...

Do you mean you cannot make Updater.exe to detect your Nuvi? If yes, and if Nuvi is bootable, try this method instead:

Try swapping Step#5 with connecting Nuvi while in diagnostic mode. Turn on Nuvi, at main interface, tap and hold battery icon for about 7-10secs until the diagnostic page comes up. Thereafter, it's advisable to let RAM and ROM pass the necessary tests, and then only connect Nuvi to PC. Also at Step#6, there is no need to hold the switch, because you were not holding it in the first place.

Both City Navigator Sg/My NT and MSM NT JCV feature is tied to localized unit, however the Lane Assist feature is not locked to region, it's functioning as long as the device supports that feature (ie. Nuvi7x5, etc.)

And now I have A Nuvi 205w borad s4 with HWID 0827

Can i convert it to MAL/SIN Firmware?
I can't see the way to converting it.
If can, What method i should do ?

im using s4 board as well on my 205w.. dont worry, JV is not to die for.. in order to use JV, you will be forced to use a not so updated map..

My 255W is s4 board, managed to flash to 2.7, but not able to upgrade to 2.8.

Hi all, newbie here. Have read through the whole thread since I have a 255W in Australia and am interested in the lane assist feature.

Anyway to cut the story short, I just want to thank those that posted helpful instructions and downloads. I managed to flash my HWID 0827 (Australia) to 0930 (SG/MY) and loaded firmware v2.80.



Went smoothly. After hard reset, set locale to MY. Am able to use the City Navigator Map for AU/NZ 2010.30. Lane assist works great.

Not sure if the Junction View in the AU/NZ map can work. Placed the .jcv in JCV dir but can't seem to get it to work.
