Re: Garmin 60CSX - Unit accuracy reading problem?

luminox wrote:Good day fellow MFM,

I must say this unit has serve it's purpose, no regrets owning it but lately for the past 1 month, i observed the accuracy reading has gone volatile from as low "-/+ 2m" to "-/+ 103m" occasionally. At times the unit constantly reads it accuracy between "-/+ 28m/35m."

I'm not sure what has gone wrong but would like to find out if any owners are having such problems? Does the monsoon season during this time are to be blame for this problem.

Would be great to have some feedback.

Many thanks.

Your accuracy vary during driving or during stand still?
Did you drop your set before? :welcome:

alyem, i'm suspecting the monsoon season could be the cause...

bro richmondn/keong8260, the unit has never drop b4, accuracy works well behind the car tint while idling and out of the car previously.. the unit accuracy works pretty OK while on the move previously too, it's just that lately only, during monsoon season that i realized the accuracy has gone off a bit..

may be i have high expectation, well just have to wait till monsoon ends to see if this is the cause... how about u guys then?

Mine one OK during heavy monsoon. +-3-5m acc.
Look like you need to wait until end of the monsoon season to make sure your 60CSx is OK or not? Hehe!

bro luminox

very strange indeed, perhaps if you are in kl town center, sat signals bounces off buildings and therefore not so accurate, i have the same prob so i try to use an external ant.

well hopefully your set returns to normal after the monsoon season.
Warmest Regards

But, it has 5.3 inches widescreen "800x480", waterproof, usable on SEA and LAND. But it is quite heavy for handheld ..almos half a kilogram.
