TomTom gives free lifetime unlimited WORLD MAPS!

Postby qsrgukp2002 » Mon Mar 14, 2016 5:20 pm

Hi,

By paying a bit more, TomTom provides free lifetime unlimited WORLD MAPS! I wonder how is Garmin going to react? I am a big fan of Garmin NUVIs, but I believe experienced GPS users will agree with me that map updates are more important than the brand of GPS that you buy.

I really hope that Garmin is listening.......

Garmin and papago is losing the gps game to waze and google maps if they don't have traffic support soon

Even without live traffic, Garmin or TomTom are losing market due to Google or Waze is Free-of-Charge (FOC).

Only those heavy travelers need standalone GPS unit for backup.

For me both google map and dedicated gps complement each other. I use google map to see my overall route (easy to zoom in and out), traffic condition, street view of my destination and use my papago as my gps. This way I can safe my phone battery and data. But for short distance driving I use google map. What I love about dedicated gps particularly papago gps is malfreemaps junction view.

Before starting my journey and periodic check along the way , I use Google map and Waze for traffic condition.
If you are in or around poor or no data area or new territory ( untracked )
Standalone GPS ( can backtrack) is still the way to go for me with :rox:
