Transfer Waypoints from Mapsource to New Garmin 4592LM

For several years I have had a Garmin Nuvi1460 using Mapsource v 6.15.7.0 to load maps and waypoints to and from my 1460. I have now purchased a garmin 4592LM which has an Android OS. How can I transfer from Mapsource my waypoints, routes and tracks to the 4592LM.

I am not a tecchi and would appreciate any answers in a simple format.

Unfortunately Garmin Mapsource will not work with newer generation Garmin Nuvis

You will have to migrate to Garmin Basecamp
Download the free program from this link
http://www.garmin.com/en-US/shop/downloads/basecamp
Run Basecamp.

If you had backup your POI into Mapsource, basecamp will read the mapsource file

or you can

Hook up your old 1460 and let basecamp read the POIs

Then hook up your new 4592 and transfer files into it
