dear all bro,
i just get a new unit Nuvi 50 LM from U.S.

i do the same way (Nuvi 260w) to install the MFM map on it.
but i wasn't work.

please advice what to do.

Did you put map file into SD card /garmin sub folder

i did put SD card and install in it. but still cannot find the map.
can help point me out the correct way to do it?

Consider the below possibilites

1. Is it in correct sub folder in SD card ?
2. Consider map corrupted. Re-download fresh copy
3. Consider SD card bad ? Use another one

I bought the Garmin 52LM last month. So far I find this GPS the worst I have used among 7 GPS I owned. It is very fond of resetting itself/rebooting as it pleases and hang after about 1/2 hour of usage. It is very frustrating to use. I have upgraded to the latest firmware but the problems mentioned still persist. In short, don't buy this GPS until Garmin post a newer upgrade.

Totally agree with you. The newest version software also got the same problem. When the time routing to a place will always lag and i already sent the device to warranty 2 times. Still got the same problem.

Anyone else experience similar issue? You guys using latest 2.20 firmware?

Yes. I am using the latest 2.20 firmware on my Garmin 52LM. Wasted my hard-earned money on a lemon!

By comparison 50lm still far better

i had thought the 52 and 42 were just "changed physical housing" versions of 50 and 40... not so ?

the memory has been increased from 2G to 4G as well. Maybe there is some buffer overflow in the software

I,m sorry, I just bought a nuvi 42lm (UI is similar to 52lm except that 52lm has a bigger screen) but I'm beginning to hate this model. The new UI won't let you to search all POIs. You have to go through categories.

Problems;

1. MFM cgpsmapper map sometimes does not put the POIs in the correct category so searching for POIs is a pain.
2. The new UI has no "Other" category which clinics, street names and a few others are categorised, so no street name search on this model.

Please help how to make a seach on this model..

Last month I went to Ampang park KL and asked one of the dealer about Garmin GPS, they suggested 52LM to me, My question to them is does this model have an option call TRACK LOG which I can record the new track. They also not sure ....... fianally and luckly I didn't buy this unit.

So my question here which is the best between 2576LM and 2567LM ? Can I use this model to record the new track?

Same for me, my sometime hang and also does not display POI.
