Hi syedmuhd,

Garmin Nuvi 255W is still the best among all garmin GPS

1) Polygons
2) POIs :peace: ( Can see all POIs + even traffic light)
3) Tracks
4) Easy to activate 1 sec tracklog
5) Fast Satellite log in

Please don't trade it with other model, :$gone: :$gone:

Understand the newer Nuvi models (since introduction of the 760) have blocked some of these markings and POIs on the map so as not to distract the users unnecessarily. Personally, I don't think the tiny traffic lights in the map is critical or useful for navigation purposes. Would thus suggest that you look at the real one in front of you when driving, to be on the safe side.

i mean the advantage of we can see the traffic light in the map is because
atleast we know when the next traffic light is when u're in the unknown road.

Bro, just my 2 sen, GPS is use to guide us from Point A to Point B, so any addition POI showing up will de-concentration your view on the road, i was once in Germany they gps only show arrow and meter, no poi and color at all.

we should pre-plan our route, find more detail for your destination than check with mapsource for any unusual route

Thank you

I beg to disagree.

When I led a convoy in New Zealand 3 years ago, my car was the lead car and the only car with a GPS.

Traffic lights in the map became very useful for me to communicate to the convoy to say, "Turn Right at the 3rd traffic light." How else are you going to communicate this info to the convoy members? The third traffic light may be the 6th or 7th intersection so which is easier to say or follow? Of course using road names will be totally out as the convoy members will not have clue. Of course we had walkie-talkies.

Some features of the map may not make sense to some who do not need it but may be very useful to some who do so we cannot generalise.
Lean not on your own understanding

I just got my 2565Lm.
It preloaded with maps can be checked in the Mymaps.
1) MFM2010.10
2) Malsing NT2011.40
3) City Nt 2011.40
Under Map file can see only one map " gmapsupp.img ".
Discovered only when after tried downloaded from Web site with device S/N etc....to see result which finally told downloading improper and I have downloaded again but this time informed memory not enough. Checked at this time found main memory is free only with 229MB from total 1.76 GB.
What is the normal memory capacity occupied with the above preloaded maps. I did not check before hand with perfect condition.
Something is not right with this condition.
I have backup the whole device software around 139MB only before trying up.
Should I convert the S/N no. to the unlock code "gmapsupp.unl" and put under same area together with the gmapsupp.img before I proceed the downloading which required also the unlock code generated in downloading process.
I suspect I have done this ended to this result.
I have not tried up yet the function of this condition of 2564LM.
How to solve this seem to be a problem.
Thanks in advance for your helps.

IMHO, we are 'overpolygon' ourselves in MFM maps...waste of space and speed.
